Yaaaaaas, you guys may remember when I reviewed I Hate Everyone But You, and now I had my library order the second book, Please Send Help…yay! I was the FIRST patron to have this one!!
Once again this book follows the format of Gen and Ava communicating via text messages and e-mails. You would be able to read this book without reading the first book, they only reference a few things which you get the context of without having to read the book. But you should really read the first book too because the growth they experience between their first year of college and now their lives AFTER college is awesome!
Our Gen and Ava are growing up. Both are navigating their first jobs after college. Ava has moved from California to New York and is an intern at a big late night show. Gen has moved to Florida and is writing for a small town newspaper. Oooooh, the mischief each one gets into.
It is refreshing to see friendships stand the test of time and distance. Gen and Ava are more like sisters than best friends. I loved how this story flowed and I enjoyed where Gen and Ava end up…I can’t say where because that will give it away. But…YAY!
My favorite part of this book is the realness. This book tackles the stigma of having an STD straight on. These two are genuine and honest with each other. They don’t hold anything back and aren’t afraid to step on each other’s toes. I can only imagine the authors sitting on their lap tops in the same room as they go back and forth with their banter while they write.
Fun 4 star book. This is such a fun and unique book that has a storyline you can’t help but get sucked into. What is that storyline? Life. We know where each girl stands and where they want to go and you can’t help but root them on and keep turning the pages to find out what happens next. I truly hope the authors contemplate another book where they are navigating the next steps in their lives!
