First Line Friday: April 10th #MomsWhoRead #QuarantineLife #ReadMe #FLF #Friday #Book #Murder #SocialDistancing

As always First Line Friday comes courtesy of Hoarding Books Blog.  I discovered this magic thanks to Crystal at Must Love Reviews.  I bought this one when it first came out and finally on Spring Break I have time to crack this baby open!!! What book is it? First the line…

Pip knew where they lived.

I have not been able to put this book down!!!!!

Blurb

The case is closed. Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by Sal Singh. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it.

But having grown up in the same small town that was consumed by the murder, Pippa Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure. When she chooses the case as the topic for her final year project, she starts to uncover secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden. And if the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?

Top 5 Things I’m Enjoying In Isolation #MomsWhoRead #Reading #Quarantine #QuarantineLife

I discovered this meme via Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books. This is hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm. The topic this week is 5 Things You’re Enjoying While In Isolation!

Netflix

I have become obsessed…yes…OBSESSED with Korean dramas and Netflix is my gateway to this heaven. It all started with Crash Landing On You and now I just can’t stop!!!!

Fortnite

Little bit of my guilty pleasure here, haha. It’s fun to just turn it on whenever throughout the day and get a game or two in.

Creative Cooking

It has been fun to get in the kitchen and throw things together. This was dinner last night…heavily influenced by my new kdrama obsession, haha. I just googled potatoes in ramen and decided I would go for broke adding potatoes, corn, spam, and egg to my ramen. It was delicious! Who knew egg and ramen would be AMAZING!

Daily Showers

Hear me out on this one…I am able to wake up, linger around for a little bit, and then shower and get dressed. It is at a slow, snail pace. I can enjoy my shower, rock out to music, there is no time table to when I need to be done with my shower! I have found that this has been my saving grace…getting up, showering, and getting dressed like I’m going somewhere. This has helped me stay motivated and stay in a good frame of mind. I did try not to do this one day and that day was HORRIBLE!

Family Group Text

This is probably the most enjoyable part of my day. I am in a large family group text with my brother, dad, aunt, and grandparents. It. Is. Hilarious. You never know what anyone will say at any given time. It’s the little bit I didn’t know I needed.

What are some things that you have been enjoying while in isolation????

This week’s prompt is…

Six Favorite Authors To Follow

Elin Hilderbrand: She is a must read, must buy obsession for me. I am slowly but surely gathering all her works and reading them. You can count on as soon as pre-order is available for her upcoming book, I’m on the list!! Most of her books are set in Nantucket and are the PERFECT beach reads!! Currently I’m obsessing over her Paradise trilogy and impatiently waiting for October to arrive so I can have some closure on what is happening!!!!

Teresa Driscoll: I. Love. Her. She writes the most amazing psychological thrillers and if you love thrillers and have not heard of her, you won’t regret checking her out. She’s also written domestic dramas that I will be checking out soon!

David Baldacci: He is a family love. I am sure you have heard of him and everyone in my family reads him. I have my Dad’s huge box of his reads and am making my way through them. He is an auto-read in my family for sure!

DJ Palmer: I became obsessed with DJ Palmer after Saving Meghan. I finished The New Husband last week (look for that review closer to the April publishing date) and I am officially obsessed. His books just suck you in!!

Sandie Jones: I feel a special bond with Sandie Jones as I have been honored to receive an advanced copy of all her books. I even mistakenly have my name in her thank yous in The First Mistake as just “Donna” because…well…I’m dumb. *sigh* She pens great thrillers and has you guessing until the end!!

Ruth Ware: Can you tell I love mysteries/thrillers? She is another great thrilling writer and I have adored every book I’ve read by her!

Who are you favorite authors??

This week’s prompt is…

Six Reasons I Love Blogging

1. I love sharing the books I love (& even those I don’t care for) with everyone!! It is so much fun to talk about the books and then discuss them further with you all!

2. I love reading all of YOUR posts. This is how I usually discover the books that I read (which is awesome because they’ve all been vetted through you, hence the majority of 4-5 star books that I read)!

3. It gives me an outlet, something to look forward to. It helps to keep me motivated to read at least a book a week…I need content, don’t I? Haha.

4. The community. I feel like I’m part of something special. Even though I don’t know any of you in real life, it just feels special. I love celebrating your highs and being there for you when you have a low. Just know I’m always keeping tabs on all of you!

5. Reading original works of others. I have a dream of one day writing a novel and reading your works in progress, seeing you so vulnerable, gives me the confidence that I can do that too (one day). Keep on writing!

I tried to get 6 this week, but I got to 5 and got stuck!! What is your favorite thing about blogging??
